| Olympic diploma:
distinction granted to the people classified
in the first eight positions in each Olympic event. The participants in
the Olympic Games and the official staff who have worked on them also receive
a commemorative diploma and medal.
The honorary diplomas which the eight top
classified competitors received were printed each day, shortly after the
final, in a typeface by the designer Javier Mariscal, and were delivered
the day after to the chefs de mission at the Olympic Village.
